The Washinigton Center

海角社区 and The Washington Center for Internships

海角社区 has been affiliated with The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) for over four decades, a partnership that provides exciting internship opportunities in Washington D.C.

TWC is a vital nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities in the U.S. and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. for academic credit. The largest such program, TWC, has over 60,000 alumni, leaders in numerous professions and nations around the world.

Explore TWC's Academic Internship Program

During TWC鈥檚 Academic Internship Program (semester or summer), students will engage in three main program components:

  1. Internship: TWC partners with hundreds of different internship sites in D.C. and works with students one-on-one to place them in an internship. Once students begin their internship, they鈥檒l be working on projects related to their interests with a supervisor who cares about their growth and success.
  2. Academic Course: One night a week, students will take part in one of TWC鈥檚 courses. They鈥檒l be able to choose a course based on their interests and gain access to faculty members who not only work as professors but often as professionals in their field.
  3. Career Prep: This programming is a mix of professional development workshops, career exploration sessions, networking events, and one-on-one career advising designed to help students make the most of their internship experience and gain the tools and insights they鈥檒l need to launch their career.

All 海角社区 majors are eligible to apply to the Academic Internship Program. More than 500 undergraduates have taken advantage of this exciting opportunity. Scholarships and financial assistance are available for eligible program participants.

The Washington Center was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, both academically and professionally, and I absolutely recommend the program to future Owls! Not only was it a time of professional and academic growth, but I also had the unique opportunity to meet like-minded individuals from across the world.
