�������� has received a gift from outgoing Interim President Roy H. Saigo, Ph.D., and wife Barbara Saigo, Ph.D., to endow a scholarship to assist employees in their professional development.

“During our time at �������� we have witnessed the hundreds of faculty and staff dedicated to student success,” said Saigo. “In recognition of this work and commitment, Barbara and I were inspired to establish this scholarship to assist these talented individuals in their professional journeys.”

Created through the �������� Foundation, the Roy and Barbara Saigo Endowment for Faculty, Librarian, and Staff Excellence aims to encourage and assist University employees in their pursuit of scholarly and creative activities, including professional presentations, performances, exhibitions, research, innovative endeavors, and publications.

“We were thrilled to learn of the Saigos’ generosity to support ��������’s faculty and staff in such a significant way,” said Erica Broman, Ed.D., executive director of the �������� Foundation and �������� vice president for institutional advancement. “The Saigo fund will help enhance scholarship pursuits and endeavors.”

To recognize the Saigos and support their colleagues, members of the campus community have been invited to contribute to the endowed fund.

“The response from the �������� community has been significant ensuring a robust fund that will help benefit our students and community for years to come,” said Broman.

Dr. Saigo will conclude his one-year appointment at the end of June and President-elect Linda Thompson will begin her tenure as ��������’s 21st president on July 1.
