    Internship and Job Shadow Opportunities

    The Biotechnology Concentration includes an internship, offering students valuable real-world experience. Internship placements are available through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center Internship Challenge and other opportunities with organizations such as Microbiotix, Inc., Cellmosaic, Celltreat Scientific Products, Iomics Intelligent Analytics, and Baystate Hospital, which has previously hosted interns.

Course Requirements

Program Description

The Biotechnology concentration prepares students for the biotechnology workforce, a strong, growing industry in the region. The program was developed as a result of a needs assessment and in consultation with the º£½ÇÉçÇø Biotechnology Advisory Committee, consisting of 2-year and 4-year faculty, students, and biotechnology industry professionals.

Requirements for the Biotechnology Concentration - 61 - 63 Credits-

General Education and Common Core Courses

, , and  each satisfy General Education and Common Core requirements, however they DO NOT satisfy requirements for the Biology Major and should not be taken by students within the major.  and   each satisfy General Education and Common Core requirements.  and  each satisfy Common Core requirements, but do not satisfy General Education requirements. Courses should be selected with guidance from faculty advisor.

º£½ÇÉçÇø does not require an application essay, SAT and/or ACT scores, or letters of recommendation (except for special program admissions).     

All first-year applicants are reviewed for admission based on their high school record. First-year applicants must meet the established by the in order to qualify for admission to a state university.
